Survivor Gives a Vivid Recount of Scary Moment When Al Shabaab Struck on Good Friday: Twenty-year-old Lewis Mwirigi, who survived the good Friday attack has recounted his near death experience while escaping the Al Shabaab.
According to Lewis, traders were up by 6.45am as usual, to fend for themselves because during Ramadan business is good.
He narrated,“At around 7am, a Toyota Probox pulled near our shops and four hooded men came out and started shooting at us,”
Lewis continued narrating that at first, men shot in the air which did not raise any alarm because in that area, someone carrying a gun or hearing shots in the air is a day to day activity.
Another survivor who has been identified as Patrick Nthaiba emotionally recalled how he tried to save his colleagues after the silence of gunshots.
He revealed that four of them died on the spot while two died while receiving treatment The bodies of the deceased were airlifted to their homes in Meru County, where they have been preserved awaiting send off.
