Driver’s Mistake That Caused 5-Vehicle Accident & 10 Deaths: Mukaa Sub-County Police Commander Barnabas Ng’eno on Monday, April 1, pointed fingers at the truck driver saying he was recklessly driving.
The truck driver was heading towards Mombasa from Nairobi when he hit an 18-seater matatu. An incident that happened on Monday night, claimed the lives of 10 people at Mombasa Road between Sultan Hamud and Salama Towns..
Barnabas stated,”The driver failed to keep to his proper lane and also made a sudden right turn without due care and attention resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle.”
In the snarl up, Another truck hit the two vehicles and thereafter, a saloon car and a 14-seater matatu crashed into the accident scene.
Several were rushed to Sultan Hamud Hospital as the vehicle were towed away. Transport cabinet secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen has however, not issued a statement on the accident as people are effortlessly calling on road sanity.
