Former Riruta MCA Declared Guilty of Murder of EX- Wife
Former Riruta MCA Declared Guilty of Murder of EX- Wife: Njoroge was found guilty of murder together with two other suspects in the incident which happened in 2018.
In the case, the 24-year-old Lucy Njambi, died after being raped, physically assaulted, forced to swallow acid and her body dumped in a coffee farm.
The judge in his ruling, asserted beyond reasonable doubt that the three suspected were involved in the murder of Njambi.
The court therefore, cancelled bond requests for Njoroge and accomplices. They will remain in custody until sentencing, set for Friday, April 12.
Njoroge was arrested and charged with the murder of his ex-wife after detectives found evidence pointing him to the murder.
According to the prosecution, before Njambi died, she informed her relatives and doctors that her estranged husband had hatched the attack.
Speaking to media after the judgement, Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba highlighted that the main focus is now Njoroge’s 4-year-old son.
He stated, “We understand that the 4-year-old son was taken forcefully from the grandmother by the accused and we do not know how safe the boy is now that the father is in prison,”
“How the son is going to live on and therefore would request that the civil society take up this case and let us see how we can help this young boy to make sure he gets all he deserves to get,” Wamuchomba added.
