SDA officially Responds to the Widely publicised “Holy Betrayal Story” Aired on TV: Speaking on Behalf on Seventh day Adventist church, Pastor Samuel Misiani from West Kenya Conference came out to address the viral “ Holy Betrayal” documentary aired on NTV.
This comes after a trailer circulated online, which attracted attention in connection to the just Ended Shakahola Massacre Cult
The Statement Read;
We therefore reject this assumptions as demeaning, misleading and in bad Faith. We would to explain that Seventh Day Adventists are Bible Believing Christians whose teachings are based on the bible and the bible alone.
Our bible based 28 fundamental beliefs form the basis of our practice and worship. This means anyone who is an adventist adheres to this beliefs.
SDA church therefore, cannot be dragged into activities of any Splinter groups or off shoots which do not adhere to the teachings and practices of the church.
The association of our signage to extremist activities is highly regretted because those particular churches had nothing to do with the story.
The story connects the SDA church with some groups who apparently do not believe in education. We would like to highlight that SDA church is proactive in Education and Health sectors.
We have no record of compaints on the content of our books, rather, adventist literature has been in educational institutions by everyone to give a holistic view on health, family and spiritual life.
The SDA church own one national television and seven radio stations in Kenya. We also own a printing press since 1920.
Therefore the recent assertions by NTV that the adventist church had barred its members from taking their children to school , from receiving medical attention and from watching television or listening to radio are false and in bad faith.
The church is busy preparing people for the soon coming of christ and serving humanity in many ways that we cannot enumerate
