Kalonzo Explains Why CDF Ogolla Was at Bomas During 2022 Elections After Ruto’s Viral Video: Azimio la umoja’s Kalonzo Musyoka has come out to condole with the families of the late CDF Ogolla and the 9 soldiers, who passed on Yesterday in a tragic Plane crash.
Kalonzo however, highlighted that the country is asking a lot of questions and the answers must be provided expeditiously.
He stated,”It is with consternation and great shock that I received the news of the tragic death of General Francis Omondi Ogolla, Chief of Defence Forces, as a consequence of tragic helicopter accident today at Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties,”
“General Ogolla was a highly decorated 4 star soldier with great vision. His loyalty and profound dedication to the cause of justice was unquestionable. I also mourn with the families of the nine fallen soldiers who also lost their lives in service to our Nation. The country is asking a lot of questions and the answers must be provided expeditiously.”
Azimio’s Kalonzo Musyoka went ahead to reveal that the late Ogolla was in 2020 appointed as the head of the Defence Forces in line with the Military ‘Tonje Rules’ and not other speculated reasons.
He stated,“If Kenyans can remember exactly what happened after the 2022 general elections, that the general who was a member of the national security team was dispatched along with his colleagues to the Bomas of Kenya which is a normal thing, but brought about a lot of criticism,”
“If it was not for the Tonje rules, he would not have become the general,” he added.
Tonje rules are named after General Daudi Tonje, Kenya’s fourth Chief of General Staff. This is a gentleman’s agreement yet to be encoded as the law.
According to The rules, if a position holder serves for a term, four years in this case, they can get a one-year extension at the pleasure of the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
