TSC Releases New Salary Scale and Grading system For Teachers: A grading system and salary scales for teachers has been introduced for the both primary and secondary school tutors.
According to TSC, P1 grade, which was part of Job Group G will be replaced with Grade B5. This new grade now serves as the entry level for all primary school tutors.
For primary school teachers, the progression starts with Primary Teacher II (T-Scale), which is the entry scale for newly employed teachers, all falling under Grade B5.
However, in the scenario where Promotional opportunities arise with Primary Teacher I (T-Scale 6), which is achievable after three years of service as a Primary Teacher II, automatically placing them in Grade C1.
Senior Teacher II (T-Scale 7) serves as a promotional scale for primary school teachers and entry into administrative roles.
Promotion to Senior Teacher I (T-Scale 8) now requires a minimum of three years’ service as a Senior Teacher II. Both Senior Teacher II and Senior Teacher I fall under Grade C3.
Deputy Headteacher (T-Scale 9), Headteacher (T-Scale 10), and Senior Headteachers (T-Scale 11), each requiring a minimum of three years’ service at the previous level and subject to competitive selection.
These roles are categorized under Grades C4, C5, and D1, respectively, including various administrative and teaching positions within primary and secondary schools.
