Kindiki Orders Kenyans Living in These Areas to Vacate Immediately: Speaking During Friday’s Tree Planting Exercise, CS Kindiki noted that some people had built their homes in forests while others had undertaken other business activities
He stated,”We consider climate change and its devastating effects as a National security threat. We must reclaim our environment by growing enough trees for ecological sustainability,”
“Those who have encroached on the riparian reserves and corridors must vacate immediately and those who decline will be forcefully evacuated. So far, the Government has relocated more than 181,000 people who had constructed shelters and were living near the Nairobi Rivers Corridor,” he added.
He further stated that some people had even attained title deeds for the forest land, adding that the government knows and Action must be taken.
He stated,”All persons living in Government forests must vacate immediately, including those who have acquired title deeds irregularly and unlawfully.”
