Details on Iranian Helicopter Crash, Search Efforts For President Still Ongoing.
Details on Iranian Helicopter Crash: Initial reports late on Sunday indicated the helicopter had been found, as stated by Iranian news network Press TV that broadcasts in English and French-language.
Ahmad Vahidi, the Iranian Minister for Internal Affairs, later clarified that due to adverse weather conditions, poor visibility and difficult terrain, rescue forces had not yet reached the crash site.
Russian international news outlet RT Network later reported that search operations were ongoing and that acknowledged conflicting information was being received regarding the helicopter’s exact location.
Footage from Iran’s leading independent news agency Fars News showed the extreme weather conditions hampering the search efforts.
Chairman of the Red Crescent Society has just announced that search teams are now focusing on a new area after relocating their search efforts.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei had earlier issued a statement on the crash of the helicopter carrying President Raisi.
“We hope that Almighty God will bring the president and his associates back into the arms of the nation. The Iranian people should not worry, there will be no disruption in the country’s work. Let’s all join in praying for their health.”
