Kenya Power Announces 24-Hour Outage on Token Payment System: Kenya Power on Tuesday issued an alert to Kenyans to load their electricity tokens ahead of a scheduled maintenance on Sunday, June 2.
KPLC explained that the outlet system will be unavailable starting Sunday, June 2 at 10:00 pm and will last until Monday, June 3, at 10:00 pm.
This means customers will not be able to buy tokens through mobile money, at the banking halls, or at the Kenya Power offices.
The statement read,”We wish to inform our customers that the prepaid token vending system will be unavailable from 10:00 PM, Sunday, 2nd June to 10:00 PM, Monday, 3rd June to enable us to upgrade our systems for improved service delivery,”
“During this period, customers will not be able to buy electricity tokens from all vending points including Kenya Power offices, (Mobile money) Paybill number 888880, and banking channels,” read part of the statement.
