ODM MCA Hospitalized as Protestors Severely Attack Her, Vandalize Vehicle: Catherine Okoth a nominated MCA under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was severely injured after protestors ambushed her in her vehicle.
While responding to the matter on Monday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna revealed that she was rushed to the hospital and is currently recovering from surgery.
The Nairobi Senator confirmed that the Toyota Prado belonged to the MCA
He stated,”This vehicle belongs to Hon. Catherine Okoth. She is a nominated MCA and the Chairlady of ODM in Nairobi. She was badly hurt in this incident and is currently recovering from surgery at Nairobi hospital,”
Philip Etale who is ODM’s Communications Director revealed that Okoth was attacked while leaving the County Assembly after protestors also breached security and entered the premises.
She was together with her driver who was ferrying her out of town before protestors attacked them by throwing a stone at the windscreen.
Videos of the incident making rounds on social media showed angry protestors hitting the vehicle with stones and reaching inside the car through the broken windows
An ambulance however, arrived and rushed okoth and the driver to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). They were later transferred to a private hospital where they underwent surgery.
“They were both severely injured, Okoth had a deep cut on her head but they are both okay now, They were discharged from the hospital and are recuperating at home,” he added
