Duale Issues Statement After Ruto Drops Him From The Ministry of Defence: President William Ruto on July 19 named half the members of his Cabinet a week after sending home 21 of his previous Cabinet save for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Among the 11 nominees were six faces who served in the disbanded Cabinet.
They include Aden Duale of Defence who was initially nominated back to the same docket before the President swapped him with Soipan Tuya of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
Duale has since issued A statement Saying,” I am Grateful to President William Ruto for reassigning me from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts.

President William Ruto officially submitted to Parliament names of the 11 Cabinet nominees for consideration and approval by the House.
The list was conveyed to the House by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula as Parliament resumed sittings after a month-long break.
“I wish to convey to the House that I have received a message from His Excellency the President, notifying the nomination of various persons for appointment to the Offices of Cabinet Secretaries,” he said.
“In the message, Honourable Members, His Excellency the President conveys that, in exercise of powers conferred on him by Articles 152(2) of the Constitution, as read together with sections 3 and 5 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, 2011, he nominates various persons for appointment to the aforementioned offices.”
