Lawyer Danstan Omari Now Withdraws From Police Officer’s Murder Case: The Lawyer has taken a step back from the case citing ‘personal reasons’
Speaking to the Presiding Judge Reuben Nyakundi, Omari highlighted that he was no longer interested in offering legal services to the murder suspect for reasons which are ‘personal’
This comes after the Judge cancelled the Ksh. 500,000 cash bail granted to the accused person three years ago after he failed to show up in court more than three times for the trial.
The Judge had granted him a bond of Ksh.1 million or cash bail of Ksh.500,000 following his application to be freed from the GK remand prison.
Justice Nyakundi took the step after he was made aware by the prosecutor Mark Mugun, that Ndege was being held in police custody at Kisii police station in connection with a livestock theft.
The Judge therefore issued a production order for Ndege to be ferried to Eldoret GK remand where he will be detained until the case is heard and determined by his court.
Mr. Ndege is said to have used 11 bullets to kill his slain wife on the night of March 9, 2019 at their Baharini police line house in Turbo Sub County, Uasin Gishu County.
According to court documents, the officer shot his wife several times in the head and stomach, killing her on the spot using his assigned AK 47 rifle.
According couple’s 12-year-old son, he was taking supper with his mother when his father arrived and sprayed bullets at her.
