Kenya Met Announces Areas Set To Receive Heavy Rainfall in The next 5 days: The Kenya Meteorological Department has named areas likely to receive rainfall in the next five days starting from Saturday, August 17, 2024, to Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
According to Kenya Met counties within this region include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
In the North-west region in parts of Turkana and Samburu counties, rainfall is expected in the morning, afternoon and later in the evening from Saturday to Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley region which includes Nairobi County is expected to experience cloudy weather before transitioning to sunny intervals.
There are also chances of light showers in the afternoon and in the evening in counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka.
“Intermittent cool and cloudy conditions are expected over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley,”
South-eastern lowlands (Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties) will generally experience sunny intervals same as the coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale.
