DCI Officer Nurses Injuries After Phone Bursts into Fire in His Pocket: An officer of the Law Attached at Mathioya, Murang’a County, has sustained injuries after his mobile phone burst into flames while on his way to Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
According to a police report Police Constable Simon Chepkirwok was part of four officers who were heading to Kinangop from Mathioya on official duty at 9:53am.
However, Before reaching their destination, Chepkirwok’s phone that was in his left front trouser pocket burst into flames and burnt him on the left thigh.
The officer was immediately rushed to Kenol hospital where he received medical treatment and was discharged hours later in stable condition.
The Report Read, “It has been reported by Cpl John Anyimo , PC Simon Chepkirwok , PC Wilson Nyaga and PC (d ) Cornelius Kemboi all of DCI Mathioya, that while they were travelling from Mathioya to Kinangop on official duty…the mobile phone ‘make ; Techno BF1’ the property of PC Simon Chepkirwok which was in his left front trouser pocket burst in flames and burnt him on the left thigh,”
