Tanker Rams Into Multiple Cars Killing Several Mourners, Others Trapped

Tanker Rams Into Multiple Cars Killing Several Mourners: Dozens of people are feared dead after a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) trailer lost control and rammed into three vehicles including a matatu and a hearse in Mai Mahiu.

In Photos circulating online, the matatu was hit from behind and hurtled down the escarpment, it was lying in an upside-down mode. The other two vehicles including a hearse with passengers on board.

Preliminary reports indicate several casualties were trapped below a matatu that overturned after the accident.

Witnesses estimated that there were several fatalities from the crash but the actual number is yet to be established as police officers probe the matter.

One family transporting a body of their loved one to Nairobi to Rongo was hit by a double tragedy as the van they were travelling in rolled down the escarpment following the accident.

According to reports, the LPG gas driver tried to control the vehicle which had lost its brakes.

Eyewitnesses explained the matatu belonging to Galaxy Shuttle rolled down a cliff, landing upside down with another van.
