Senator Allegedly Forced To Resign As Purge of Gachagua Allies Begins
Laikipia Senator Kinyua has stepped down from his seat at the influential Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC). He has served in the above said capacity for nearly two years.
Kinyua was reportedly forced to resign from his position last week under pressure from political forces.
Kinyua was among the few Senators from the Mount Kenya region who stood against the impeachment of former DP Gachagua in the Senate
Kinyua has since been replaced, with the Senate approving Senator Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri) to take over his position on the PSC.
Majority Leader Aaron Cheruyot, while moving the motion to approve Wamatinga’s appointment, saying,
Speaking In the National Assembly, Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia, who chairs the Regional Integration Committee, acknowledged the ongoing political purge.
