UoN Breaks Silence After 200 Students Stormed Dean’s Office
The university of Nairobi has responded to allegations of removing students from the graduation list, stating that no qualified student who has been cleared and approved by the Senate has been excluded from the graduation.
The office of the vice Chancellor highlighted that degrees are conferred only after fulfilling program requirements and Senate approval.
Yesterday, Tensions were running high at the University of Nairobi after over 200 students found themselves out of the graduation list.
According to the students who were studying at the Lower Kabete Campus, they learnt that they were not on the list days before the big day.
Consequently, some of the students on Thursday, December 12, stormed the administration offices to demand answers.
In videos shared online, the students were seen scrambling in the institution corridors, attempting to force their way into an office.
The graduation has been scheduled for Friday, December 13.
The affected students expressed frustration at the lack of transparency surrounding the decision.
