Visual activist Gideon Kibet, popularly known as ‘Kibet Bull’ on social media confirms his release from captivity after being abducted by suspected state agents weeks ago.
In his first post since December 2024, he revealed that he was dropped off in Luanda Town, Vihiga County around 3-4 AM on Monday. He wrote,”They dropped me in Luanda Vihiga at 3-4AM Leo. Sikuwa najua where to enter or book a room. Kidogo form ya Disco Matanga came in, danced mpaka 6AM when I went to book a ticket.”
The same day four other missing young men, including his brother Rony Kiplagat, Billy Mwangi and others were found alive.
Speaking on Monday after Mwangi’s release, Manyatta MP revealed that Mwangi had suffered torture during his captivity and was traumatised as a result. He has since been taken to hospital for check-up and treatment.
He stated,”Preliminary reports indicate that the young man is seriously traumatised, he has been whipped, and he was kept in a dark room. I want to say that even though Billy has been found, let him be the last person to endure the ordeal he has gone through. Let Billy’s parents be the last people to experience such an ordeal,”
“Let me reiterate that the law is very clear on how individuals who break the law are to be treated, and because Billy has not been charged, it means that these people merely intended to instil fear in us,” he added.
