The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) broken silence following the killing of one of their senior officials in Kilifi, Aisha Akinyi Abubakar.
In a statement signed by CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan, the IEBC condemned the gruesome murder of the late Aisha, urging security agencies to bring the assailants to book.
“The IEBC fraternity is saddened by her death and expresses its deepest condolences to Aisha’s family, friends and colleagues for the tragic loss,” the statement read.
IEBC’s statement continued, “The commission is deeply concerned by the horrendous incident and condemns the perpetrators behind Aisha’s death. We call on the country’s security agencies to speedily investigate the heinous occurrence and apprehend her killers.”
The IEBC further remembered Aisha as a “well-trained officer who performed all her duties with utmost honesty, integrity and dedication.
The motive behind her murder is yet to be established, however, the family revealed that the assailants got away with IEBC Documents
“This death has shocked us. We went to the scene of the incident and found that they jumped over two walls to get into the house. They cut through the dining grill, stormed in, and carried out the heinous attack,” Aisha’s brother, Ruadh Said, narrated.
