The legislator highlighted that the school’s 2024 national examination results were withheld and not cancelled.
Barasa revealed that he had held talks with the Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, who informed him that the school’s results were withheld for further verification.
Barasa cited that the move by KNEC was informed by the school’s exceptional performance in last year’s examinations.
The lawmaker therefore vowed to conduct a follow-up on the process, adding that once the verification process is over, all the 2024 candidates at Lugulu Girls would be allowed to access their results.
“I have talked to the Education CS, and he has told me that the results have been withheld. There is a difference between withholding the results and rejecting the results.
“The way they did the examinations, the students overperformed until the examiners decided to conduct a verification. But I want to assure the parents of Lugulu and Kenyans that the results of Lugulu Girls can only be delayed for a few days,” he added.
