Francis Meja’s appointment as a member of the Council of the Murang’a University of Technology has been revoked, a year after landing the job.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, has reappointed Captain Kungu Muigai and Mark Rabudi, respectively, to different positions.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos revoked Francis Meja’s appointment, which had been made by the former Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
In an official notice dated January 20, 2025, Migos revealed that Meja should vacate from the appointment effective January 20.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 36 (1)(d) of the Universities Act, as read together with Section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education revokes the appointment of Francis Meja as a member of the Council of the Murang’a University of Technology,” the statement read.
Notably, Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano appointed Mark Rabudi be a member of the Council of the Kenya Utalii College
Mark Rabudi has been appointed for the position for three years, with effect from January 20, 2025. Rabudi will replace John Odek, whose appointment has been revoked.
Prime Cabinet Secretary acting in the capacity of Gender CS Musalia Mudavadi has reappointed former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin, Captain Kungu Muigai, to be a member of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3(1) of the Kenya Cultural Centre Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage re-appoints Captain Kungu Muigai for a period of three years, with effect from January 24, 2025,” Musalia noted in the Gazette Notice dated Friday, January 24.
