The head of state has responded to Gachagua saying his only goal is to divide Kenyans, which will fail terribly. According to Ruto, Gachagua has no plan but dividing the nation
He stated,”Those trying to divide us will fail miserably. They want to divide us based on tribe, regions, those with payslips and those without. I’m telling you that they have no plan, no agenda, no ideas and they are leaderless. They want to concentrate on dividing our nation and they will fail.”
This comes after the Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claimed that President William Ruto offered him Ksh 2 billion to resign from his position.
In a recent interview with vernacular radio stations under Royal Media Services, Gachagua said the President directly asked him to step down, offering a financial package that included Ksh 2 billion, security, and remuneration.
He added that Ruto suggested he could still pursue a political career in the future.
Gachagua revealed that some Members of Parliament also encouraged him to resign to make way for the 2027 elections but he rejected their advice.
He also criticized the government for not addressing the rising cases of abductions in the country and condemned certain policies introduced by President Ruto’s economic advisor.
