Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has revealed that Kenyans are being abducted because of criticising President William Ruto’s government.
The Member of Parliament revealed the abductions are ‘repercussions and reprisals’ against those calling for the ouster of president Ruto
The MP spoke in Baringo County on Friday, February 7, where he alleged that Kenyans were using unconstitutional means to try and end Ruto’s government, leading to the abductions.
“When you say that Ruto Must Go and you want to use unconstitutional means, what do you expect from the state?” Kamket asked.
“You expect what we call reprisals; you expect repercussions. So the little noises you hear about some people being arrested and abducted—those are repercussions of trying to overthrow the government through unconstitutional means,” he added.
According to the Member of Parliament, the government critics deserve the abductions and arrests for opposing the government.
His statement happens weeks after CS Muturi faulted the government for abductions that are happening in the country.
Muturi stated,”The cardinal duty of the state and the government is to protect the lives and livelihood of its citizens and cannot claim to be unaware of such serious breaches of the rights of Kenyans to live free from wrongful confinement and the violation of their inalienable right to life.”
