Mandera County Government Governor Mohammed Adan has revoked key appointments he a week ago.
In a notice published in the Kenya Gazette on Friday, Mandera County Health Services Chief Executive Mumtaza Bishar Musa announced that she had revoked the appointment of four board members on behalf of the governor.
The Mandera County Government had appointed four individuals—Oman Issack Abdi, Abdikadar Daud Adan, Shamhad Mohamud, and Rashid Mohamed Ahmed—to key positions in the county’s healthcare sector.
The first three were board members of the Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital, while Rashid Mohamed Ahmed was appointed as the chairperson of Kotulo Sub-County Hospital.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by the provisions of section 13 of the Mandera County Health Services Improvement Financing Act, 2024, the County Executive Committee Member for Health Services, revokes the appointment of Oman Issack Abdi, Abdikadar Daud Adan, Shamhad Mohamud, and Rashid Mohamed Ahmed as members of the respective hospital boards as per Gazette Notice No. 1115 of 2025,”
Following the revocation of the appointments, Abdisalam Adan Ahmed, Abdishakur Daud Adan Member(reappointed), and Sahara Mohamed Noor were appointed to the board membership of the Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Abdiaziz Issack Nurow was appointed as the new chairperson of Kotulo Sub-County Hospital. He will oversee the hospital’s management for a term of three years.
”In exercise of the powers conferred by the provisions of section 12 of the Mandera County Health Services Improvement Financing Act, 2024, the County Executive Committee Member for Health Services, do appoint the following board members for the respective County Government Hospitals, for a period of three (3) years, effective from 1st February 2025: Abdisalam Adan Ahmed Member, Abdishakur Daud Adan Member, and Sahara Mohamed Noor,” the notice read in part.
