A total of 38 suspects are under custody in an operation on goons during President William Ruto’s Nairobi tour this week.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a statement on Saturday said those found culpable for terrorising Kenyans will be held accountable.
The recent attacks targeting innocent members of the public were witnessed along Thika Highway, Waiyaki way and Jogoo Road.
According to the DCI, the suspects are set to be arraigned on Monday, where they will face various charges, including robbery with violence, preparation to commit a felony and obstruction.
On Friday, police authorities ordered full coverage as Ruto embarked on his fifth day of tour of Nairobi.
Some motorists and pedestrians were attacked and robbed by goons who took advantage of the tour.
During the tour, some city residents were attacked and robbed by goons acting with impunity. Police allege the goons were mobilised by politicians to accompany the presidential tour of Nairobi.
