Police in Eldoret have nabbed the famous Marijuana , popularly known as bhangi at Eldoret.
Bhangi being an illegal plant in Kenya has been one of the leading addiction in the youth and the young generation in Kenya.
According to the users of bhangi,they claim that the marijuana is for medicinal purposes and others claim it can treat the deadly cancer.
The police said they were given an anonymous tip which led to the raid. The plant was found in an estate at Eldoret called Elgon view. A bungalow , 6 bedroomed was found with the plant freshly grown.

According to police, the plant has been potted in the bedroomed house at the rental estate. 21 plants were found in the Main bedroom,68 in the sitting room and 14 in the dinning room.
After being uprooted, the plant weighed around 33.5kg. The uasin gishu detectives clarified that 33.5kg of bhangi is worth 1million Kenyan shillings.
The suspects had converted the bungalow into a green house in which the bhangi was cultivated.
The police report read, “ All plants have been uprooted after having been documented by CSI Eldoret. The total weight of the plants is 33.5kg with a street value of 1M.
Kipchumba Michael kibet whose Identification card and certificate were found in the house is now the leading suspect in the case.
The police in conjunction with the anti- narcotics association of kenya have launched a search party with the intentions of arresting the above named suspect.
