Cabinet secretary education, George Magoha has today, 17th August stated that students will go back to school as scheduled on 18th August 2022.
He however stated that, he is not sure when the swearing in exercise will be conducted. He further stated that, being that the day will be a holiday , the students will still remain in school.
“Nobody knows for sure when the president will be sworn in. As we governise this difficult time, we shall cross the bridges when we get there.”
He further said, if there is an election petition in the future, consultations will be done and communicated effectively. He insisted that the security of the children was of utmost importance
He said, If there’s an election in the future, after thorough consulatation, we will communicate.”
Cabinet secretary, Goerge Magoha also expressed how difficult it was serving in his capacity during the covid-19 era. He went ahead to apologize to anyone who he wronged through his utterances.
He said, It has not been easy being a CS in the covid time. It required me to be firm. My apologies to the general public if any of my jokes went to the wrong side.”
“As a practising christian , i apologise to everyone we wronged. We are eagles who fly higher. As the presidents handimen we go with them.”
Hon. Goerge Magoha also thanked His.excellency president Uhuru Kenyatta for the opportunity he gave him to serve as an education minister.
He said, I want to thank his excellency president Uhuru Kenyatta for giving an me opportunity to work with children in primary and secondary schools.”
CS Magoha also appreciated his colleagues who worked hand in hand with him in his time in office
He said,”thank my public member for working with me and tolerating my bad and arrogant side.”
The president elect upon swearing in, will be required to choose new cabinet secretaries who he will work with.
