The Japanese Government has encouraged the young people or the youth to increase the alcohol consumption inorder to boost economy through taxes generated from breweries.
In a report by the japanese government, it stated that more consumption of alcohol will boost the economy status in the country.
In the recent statistics from the tax agency in Japan, It was revealed that Japanese people were drinking less in 2020 than in 1995. The government stated that is a bad sign for the economy as japan is trying to remain a superpower.
The statistics further indicated that the numbers reduced from an annual average of 100 litres (22 gallons) to 75 litres (16 gallons).
According to The Japan Times newspaper, The government revealed that the taxing scheme made up 5% of total revenue alcohol in 1980, but in 2020 during the Covid-19 era, it amounted to just 1.7% of the total revenue.
The government further stated, inorder to create awareness about the idea to boost the economy, it will hold campaigns aimed at giving the youth a platform to suggest business ideas that will encourage people to drink more.
The government also stated that it invites any interested participants to submit ideas on how to stimulate the alcohol demand among the young people
The participants should be able to come up with ideas that will boost the alcohol demand that is through new services that will encourage the youth to consume more
promotional methods, this are the methods that will promote the purchase of the product in large quantity.
The participants should also come up with products, designs and even sales techniques that will ensure alcohol is consumed more.
The government stated that in line with the above ideas, the participanta should be able to use artificial intelligence or the metaverse, according to the official competition website.
