God used us to calm down emotions, is what the Choir at the Bomas of Kenya told citizen media.
During their performance, alot of chaos was witnessed, with the Independent electoral and boundaries commission chair being barred from reading the presidential results.
The chaos was watched live by millions of people who were anticipating the presidential poll. The chaos erupted from the two top coalitions that is the Kenya kwanza coalition and Azimio la Umoja coalition.
This is after Cherera , the independent electoral and boundaries commission chair gave a press that she can not take ownership of the presidential results due to the opaque nature of the process.
Kanchory, The Azimio la Umoja Chief Agent had earlier alledged that Bomas of Kenya was a crime scene since they were barred from verifying the form 34C.
Regardless of all this chaos,Safari voices international kept singing the kenyan songs with the peace message in it.
Indiazi ,the choir leader, gave Citizen media a back ground check of how they run. He stated that they are from different tribes but the believe Kenya is one.
He said,”We come from different backgrounds, we have teachers, civil servants, company directors ranging from young to old members,” he says amid a subtle.”
He further revealed that the choir was hired to was scheduled to perform from 1000 hours to the time the independent electoral and boundaries commission chair, Wafula Chebukati announced the president elect.
He said “On that day we were supposed to work from 10 until the time the chairman of IEBC comes to announce the results. But because we were there serving our nation we could not stop singing. Singing there was like medicine for the tempers that were going around there.”
Indiazi further stated that , God used us to calm down emotions , amidst all the chaos that was going on.
He said,”We had to continue singing because we saw whatever was taking place there, the tempers had gone up, and its only music that can bring those tempers down and so we had to sing and we thank God because he used us to bring the emotions down.”
