John Githongo reveals a team of 56 was hired to hack IEBC systems.
In an affidavit that the former Corruption exposer filed, he stated that a team of 56 was hired to hack IEBC systems.
The file that is currently in the supreme court of law , indicated one individual who came out to alledge that he was part of the 56 who were hired to hack the system.
Githongo revealed that ten(10) of the hackers, were supervisors at the Independent electoral and boundaries commission while the rest(46) were able to access and enter manipulated data into the system.
Githongo also supported his statement by saying, the team was instructed to maintain the total number of votes cast which was about 14,200,000 but they were able to deduct votes cast on one presidential candidate and add them to another candidate.
Githongo further explained that the teams received data from the forms 34As edit as directed then upload then manipulated data into the system.
Githongo stated,”Their task was to receive the Forms 34A from the KIEMS Kits which were sent to their server/platform which he termed as Uchaguzi Tallying. After receiving the said data, they would edit the necessary form 34A’s according to the instructions given to them by their leaders and thereafter upload the said edited Form 34A’s to the IEBC portal.”
The affidavit further read that the hacked were under instructions to follow the freedom is coming motto.
It stated “The team was indoctrinated on the phrase “freedom is coming “and that they needed to be freed from dynasties; in this case the Petitioner.”
The affidavit stated that the hackers worked together other officials from the Independent electoral and boundaries commission in the information technology department.
However, according to the law, this can be dismassable evidence if not concrete with witnesses.
