A statement he released on Thursday 25th at Kisii county.
CS Magoha released this statement after the kenya union of post primary teachers( KUPPET) raised a concern over the school fees arrears.
The kenya union of post primary teachers( KUPPET) stated that due to the current economic trend, the schools will not be able to cater for or maintain the demands of the schools.

Teachers demands vs Magoha directive; School fees saga
However, today the cabinet secretary for education, Goerge Magoha has stated that principals are at free will to ask money from the parents.
This he stated but still insisting that no school principal should send a student home because of school fees arrears.
He said,”plead with our stakeholders that we continue to support our children as we move to the examination period and where you feel a child has capacity to pay fees and they are not paying, please engage the parents.”
He further gave an order that if any parent fails to pay the school fees as mandated, then the principals should report the parents who defaults to pay school fees.
He said “We are now in an era of technology where I believe most of the parents have phones. Rather than asking the child to go home and collect the money, you can engage the parents and like this morning, if the parent is not cooperating with you, you can escalate that to my officers in the field and even to Jogoo House including to myself in order to engage the parents on behalf of their children.”
