Saudi Arabia’s statement through the Saudi embassy has addressed the claims of mistreat of a student in the gulf.
The student, Diana Chepkemoi is a 24 year old woman, who has been been residing in one of the Arabian countries.
She had traveled all the way from Bomet county to seek employment in the Gulf, before news of her being mistreated trended online.
The past few days, claims of Diana being mistreated were trending on social media.
This is not the first time, news of women being mistreated in the gulf are circulating.
Kenyans took to their social media to urge the leaders and the Saudi Embassy to intervene and save the stranded girl.
Francis Atwoli, the chairman of central organization of trade union had earlier stated that the ministry of labour was neglecting its citizens in the gulf.
The embassy has however, stated that Diana Chepkemoi suffers from a normal health condition and not in any circumstance ill- treated while in the gulf.
Embassy stated,”In reference to what was circulated on social media regarding allegations of mistreatment of a Kenyan woman residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Embassy would like to clarify that the woman suffers from a normal health condition and was not subjected to any kind of ill-treatment.”
The Saudi embassy further refuted the claims and added that the embassy is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of all individuals who want relocate or reside in the gulf.

“The Kenyan embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is fully aware of the situation.” Embassy stated.
The embassy has further encouraged anyone who wants to travel to the gulf for employment purposes to apply through the embassy and not any common agency.
