200M allocated for Ruto’s swearing in ceremony.
Preparations for the swearing in of the president elect are underway. Assumption of office committee allocated 200M for Ruto’s swearing in ceremony.
Assumption of office committee led by Joseph Kinyua stated that the 200M was provided by the national treasury.
Committee stated,”The allocation of Ksh200 million under the Executive Office of the President is provided for in the National Treasury for Assumption of Office activities.”
The report written by the committee did not however, give a break down of how the 200M will be used to organize the ceremony.
They further revealed that the office of the president will be coordinating the presidential transition as it is required of them.
They said,”The primary role of the presidency is the organisation and coordination of government business. As part of his role, the Office of the President will be coordinating the transitional activities relating to the assumption of office of the new president after the 2022 General Election.”
The assumption of office committee on monday inspected Kasarani stadium where the event will take place.
Kinyua also said,”The committee will also organize for the necessary facilities and personnel for the president elect , facilitate communication between the outgoing President and President-Elect as well as prepare the program of the swearing-in ceremony.”
The swearing in process takes place seven(7) days after the supreme court gives a ruling on the presidential results.

In this case the ceremony will take place on the 13th of september 2022, which has been gazetted as a national holiday by Interior cabinet secretary, Fred Matiang’i.
The swearing in process will be presided by the chief justice of Kenya, Martha Koome.
Various African leaders are expected to attend the swearing in of president elect, William Ruto.
