Mixed reactions on DP Gachagua’s directive to farm in forests.
Yesterday during his address, Deputy president Gachagua stated that Kenyans are at free will to farm in forests.
However, Mixed reactions on DP Gachagua’s directive have been witnessed.
Some Kenyans came to support his directive, others opposed him saying the directive broke the rule of the land and, the deputy president is not above the law.
In his line of words, the deputy president stated that expanding farming into the forests will enable the country have more produce, in terms of food.
DP Gachagua said,”Tumetoa order, wananchi wapewe nafasi walime msitu ndio tuongeze chakula kwa Kenya. Iko haja gani kukataza watu kulima mahindi halafu tunatoa mahindi ng’ambo?
One netizen replied,”Once we cut down the forests, we will have no rivers and no ground water, and erratic rain and soil erosion.Eventually we won’t have the maize nor drinking water. Importation makes ense until we resolve irrigation and fertiliser.”
Mutahi Ngunyi commented,”Dear Riggy G. First LAW of POWER: Never OUTSHINE your MASTER. You did this on Inauguration Day. And today you FLEW in a military PLANE to Kisumu wearing SHADES. Country LOVED it. But remember this from the Arap Moi COOKBOOK of POLITICS: The Presidency is a JEALOUS institution.”
Narok senator, Ledama Ole kina opposed the directive saying the Deputy president is not above the law.
Ledama said,”So this Deputy President Rigathe Gachagua is inviting Kenyans to go and invade Mount Kenya, Aberdare and Nandi forests …. 👏 👏 Shida tupu! When is the induction session for the deputy president on what he can and cannot do! My friend you are not above the law!”
Ledama added,”Someone should Remind Rigathe Gachagua that decisions are made in Cabinet not road side Declarations! He is too excited and will end up messing up and being sidelined by his boss … Slow down Mr.”
Others who saw the directive unfit is Miguna Miguna who said the DP must refrain from unconstitutional declarations.
Miguna said,”I agree. @rigathi must avoid these kinds of roadside declarations. Farming in forests is a very bad idea.
