President Ruto fails to deliver 50% Women ratio in the cabinet.
Today, President William Ruto held a press briefing at State house, Nairobi, where he nominated his cabinet.

However, during the campaigns, In his manifesto president Ruto promised to deliver a 50% ratio of women in the cabinet.
Netizens have expressed their feedback on the nomination saying President Ruto fails to deliver the 50% ratio of women in his list of Cabinet secretaries.
Earlier, Former Kitu Governor, Charity Ngilu expressed that President Ruto promised to appoint 11 women in his cabinet.
Ngilu said,”He promised 50 per cent 11 women in the cabinet, that we can support. Let’s wait and see.”
However only 7 women appeared as nominees in president Ruto’s list of cabinet secretaries.
The 7 include;
Aisha Jumwa
In 2022, she was eyeing the Kilifi gubernatorial seat, however, Lost to Mungar’o
She is the former member of parliament in Malindi.
She was nominated as the Public -Service Gender and Affirmative Action.
Rebecca Miano
She was nominated to EAC
She is currently the chief executive officer of Kenya electricity generating company.
Soipan Roselinda Tuya
She was nominated as Environment cabinet secretary. Soipan was Narok women representative( 2017-2022).
Florence Bore
Nominated as Labour and social and social protection CS. Bore served as Kericho Woman Rep from 2017 to 2022.
Susan Nakhumicha Wafula
Nominated as health cabinet secretary. In 2022, she was eyeing Tranz Nzoia women rep seat.
Penina Malonza
Nominated as Tourism cabinet secretary. She was Kitui deputy governor( 2013-2017).
Alice Wahome
Nominated as water, Sanitation and irrigation cabinet secretary.
She is the Kandara constituency member of parliament, also an advocate of the high court.
The president however promised to update the list.
