UDA blocks Azimio’s move to declare themselves as the majority in Nairobi county Assembly.
The court suspended a declaration that stated Azimio La Umoja one Kenya as the majority.
The court also barred its officials from assuming the offices of the leader of the majority, the deputy leader of the majority, the majority whip and other key positions.
Chief Magistrate Cosmas Maundu ordered that Ng’ondi’s ruling remained null and void until the case is reviewed.
The judge ruled,”A conservatory order Is hereby Issued suspending the implementation of the speaker’s impugned decision dated October 11, 2022, that declared Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Party and consequently bar the listed officials from assuming offices.”
The Raila- led coalition, Azimio la Umoja had nominated Peter Imwatok( Majority leader), John Ndile Musila( deputy majority leader)and Moses Ogeto as the majority whip.
Judge Maundu has ordered an inter party hearing between Azimio la Umoja and Kenya kwanza on November, 1st 2022.
