Wetangula gazettes vacant member of parliament seats.
National assembly speaker,Moses Wetangula gazettes vacant member of parliament seats, this include the Kandara and Garissa township constituencies.
This comes after Kandara MP Alice Wahome resigned to take up a cabinet secretary job in the Ministry of Water and sanitation.
Wetangula stated,”Pursuant to Articles 101(4)(a) and 103(1)(d) of the Constitution as read with section 16(3) of the Elections Act No. 24 of 2011, it is notified for the general information of the public that the seat of the Member of the National Assembly for Kandara Constituency elected under Article 97(1)(a) of the Constitution has become vacant with effect from 26th October 2022.”
Likewise, Wetangula also gazetted the Garissa township constituency seat as vacant, this is after Aden Duale resigned and took up the Defence cabinet secretary position.

The speaker has notified the Independent electoral and boundaries commission chairman, Wafula Chebukati.
He will also gazette the date for a by election soon.
