You deserve to be inside power- Wanjigi to the Luos.
Ex- Safina presidential candidate has questioned Luos on what will happen when their king pin is out of power.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony of Violet Dawa, wife to Legion Maria reverend and politician Willis Ondiek in Ratado, Ugenya, Siaya county, Wanjigi added that its high time luos enter into power and not settle only on the opposition.
Wanjigi reminded the lakeside community that they were among the first communities to champion for independence, but they are still out of power.
Wanjigi stated,”Are you going to wait for another 10 years out of power? Your region has a good history of having fought for rights and freedoms that we enjoy yet you are still outside power. You deserve to be inside power.”
Wanjigi added that its high time the luos formulate ways of entering the government and not depend on one man, to lead them there.
Wanjigi added,” I want to advise you that there are many ways of skinning a cat; you must be inside government not always looking at ‘the head’.”
However, Governor Orengo who was at the event, told him off saying luos have a specific routine and leader they follow.
Orengo said,”As a people, we have a specific bridge and leader that we follow. You cannot abandon your mother’s house because it is leaking. If it is leaking you fix it.“
Supporting Orengo was East Asembo MCA, Gordon who said,”Raila is our Moses and we are going to continue following him unless God calls him to glory.”
Further, Wanjigi praised the government under president Ruto, for the reforms he is making.
Wanjigi said,”The police had become a home for mass murderers of fellow Kenyans and we commend the newly installed government for the reforms.”
“We want an accountability in the police department and we do not care how high it goes. Let the law slaughter all murderers,” he added.
