Uproar on the socials as a police officer is recorded encouraging Killing by Mob justice.
An OCS in Bondeni caused an uproar on the socials as he was inciting citizens to kill criminals.
The OCS who was in a full police uniform is seen urging the congregation to treat crime suspects with contempt, claiming that they would be acting within their mandate.
The police officer argued that with the rising cases of crime in the country, criminals behind such attacks deserve no mercy and thus urged the public to take the law into their own hands and kill the perpetrators.
He said,” Kama mtu si peaceful, you assault that person as you wait for the police, kweli?”
“Kama mtu amefanya kitendo tunasema hot pursuit, amedunga mtu, bado the incident is still fresh, huyo mtu auwawe… That is the proper interpretation of the law,” he added
He further stated that the law protects criminals as citizens are suffering day in day out.
He posed,”Why are we interpreting the law to favour criminals and to disadvantage good people in society?”
“We cannot allow few individuals who are criminal to continue disturbing the majority of the society… that one is not protected in the law,” he said amidst cheers from the audience.” Out of a population, if 3% is disturbing the people, we eliminate the 3% by killing to save the 97%,” he added.
He further defended his utterance, referring to Article 24 of the Constitution, which according to his interpretation, gives people power to kill murder suspects.
He said,”Article 24 of this Constitution says certain rights can be limited, these are rights which can be limited…and the right to life is one right which can be limited.”
“Nani anasema hii katiba hairuhusu kuua? Inaruhusu…Article 24, the limitation Clause, Article 51 of the UN charter; if someone commits a crime by killing another, anafuatwa under hot pursuit na pia auawe,” he added.
