Several jobseekers in Eldoret scammed by an imposter CEO in MTRH.
Several jobseekers in Eldoret have had long days after expected jobs turned out to be a scam.
Apparently, an imposter Chief executive officer( CEO) who claimed to be working in Moi teaching and referral hospital, promised them jobs in the parastatal( MTRH).
The victims reported that the man used the phones to interchange his voice and also used several Facebook and WhatsApp accounts to convience the jobseekers that he would offer them jobs at the hospital.
Additionally, he downloaded and sent the CEO’s photos to victims who demanded proof of his identity.
After several fraud cases were reported, the authorities sought to track him down, among them a case file by the head of MTRH regarding impersonation.
A police officer at Naiberi stated,”It is claimed that he calls his victims and asks them to talk to his assistant but changes his voice.”
An online interview would then be conducted on the clueless job seekers, where they will be asked to send their Identity materials, academic materials and clearance certificates from KRA and CRB.
The police said,”The suspect was arrested at Annex Estate following a tip from complainants.”
Authorities have warned on the rising cases of job frauds. Kenyans have been urged to stay woke.
