I am done with Raila- Oparanya defects from Azimio camp.
Former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has declared that he does not want anything to do with azimio la umoja leader, Raila Odinga.
Wycliffe Oparanya, who is Raila’s deputy in orange democratic movement, said his main goal from now on will be uniting the Luyha community.
Oparanya stated,”I am offering myself from now to lead the unity drive of our people. I am done with Raila and even if he bad-mouths me, God forbid, he knows, he will not be forgiven.”
During the campaigns, Oparanya rallied for Azimio la Umoja, but ever since the allocation and nomination of members to EALA, Oparanya and the Luhya community felt betrayed.
He also added that irregardless of the support the community has accorded Raila, they have never been recognized when it comes to distribution of roles in the coalition.
“The result of that vote is that all other big tribes but the Luhya sent an MP to EALA,”Oparanya stated.
“I was pushing for Kizito Justus to go to EA LA but MPs were grumbling that Kizito had no money. I was wondering that MPs must also be bribed to vote,” he added
His sentiments comes a day after a section of Luyha Members of parliament on Tuesday accused Raila of bias in the sharing of minority slots in Parliament.
They stated that ODM leaders excluded the western community from the Parliamentary Service Commission as well as minority leadership seats.
