Nairobi residents to buy water tokens.
Nairobi residents to buy water tokens; County government of Nairobi has revealed its plans to digitize access to water.
The County Assembly unanimously approved a motion to allow the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC) to digitize water meters.
The billing system will mirror Kenya Power and Lighting Company’s (KPLC) token system.
While moving the motion, Clay City ward representative Mwaura Samora explained that the move will cushion Nairobians during harsh economic times.
“The move will benefit city dwellers as they will able to buy water according to their budget,” Samora stated.
