Teachers raise concerns over the KCPE and KPSEA.
Teachers raise concerns over standard eight examinations( Kenya certificate of primary education) and grade six( Kenya primary school education assessment).
They stated that in regards to the scheduled starting time of exams, a confusion may occur.
They stated,”KPSEA exams are concluded about one hour before the KCPE exam, this means we will have to teach the learners the different sounds of the bell.”
The teachers further stated that amount of time they were given to prepare two groups for the national examinations was too little.
They lamented,”The teachers have had a tough time preparing two groups of learners for the national exams.”
In Kajiado county, concerns were raised regarding the number of candidates who are expectant.
The commissioner stated,” For the grade six learners, we have ten girls who are pregnant and in class eight we have 28 girls.”
Additionally , the hunger concerns especially in areas that are experiencing adverse drought currently.
A total of three million learners, are expected to six for exams that will pave way for their admission in High schools and junior secondary schools, come next year.
