The Lord is my strong defender- Kawira’s speech after court stops impeachment.
A bright day for Meru county governor, after the hight court dismissed the MCAs petition seeking to remove her from office.
The court stated that the petition was flawed and invalid, the right procedure for removal was not followed.
The court stated,”It is the singular authority of the court to deal with threatened violations before they happen and to give appropriate reliefs including conservatory orders in terms of Article 23 (3) of the Constitution”
“It is therefore ordered that the impeachment motion dated November 21 by MCAs and scheduled for debate on November 30 at 10:00 am is flawed and is quashed,”the court added.
Speaking at Athiru, she rendered an apology to the 69 Members of county assembly and invited them to have talks with her.
She stated that from now on, her aim is to fuel Meru county forward, through projects and promote peace throughout the county.
She said,”The Lord is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him and sing about his greatness.”
“Let us Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with us.”
This comes days, after she dared the members of county assembly to impeach her.
She stated,”They are now threatening to kick me out of office. If that is the plan, I declare they will go before me. I will not go to the assembly because I will be busy meeting the people.”
“They cannot remove me from office. I will guard the resources of Meru with all my ability. I will make Meru a model county in terms of development,”she added.
