This is not the end- Mabonga’s message to Wakoli after defeat.
A very tight race was witnessed in the Bungoma senatorial by election, with Wafula Wakoli emerging as the winner.
His closest competitor Mwambu Mabonga conceded defeat but he highlighted, that he is still going to be very active in the politics arena.
Mwambu stated,”This is not the end of my political journey. I will still vie for other positions in the coming general elections, I won’t give up.”
Speaking at Bungoma county club, Mwambu however, decried that his agents were harassed, and transparency was compromised in the voting exercise.
He further put Wetangula on the spot saying he should not be actively urging people to vote for a candidate, and his work is to unite western Kenya.
He stated,”Wetang’ula should remain neutral and shun taking part in active politics, it was very wrong for Wetang’ula to put on a Ford Kenya uniform and campaign for my competitor Wafula Wakoli.”
