He is a distinguished public servant- Gachagua defends Ruto’s latest appointments.
The second in command, Rigathi Gachagua has defended the president’s appointment after citizens went up in uproar for being inconsiderate in his appointment.
The citizens complained that the appointment of the new NHIF head, Michael Kamau, did not take into account that he has a graft history on his back.
Allegedly, the former transport CS awarded a Ksh33 million road tender irregularly.
DP Gachagua stated that president William Ruto was right to make the appointment , citing that the lost dignity of Michael Kamau has finally been restored.
He stated,” For 8 years, the son of Kenya has not known peace. The appointment of Eng. Kamau to chair the board of @nhifkenya brings experience and efficiency to an institution critical in implementing the Kenya Kwanza Plan of realizing Universal Health Coverage for all Kenyans.
“Thank you, my Boss, H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, for restoring the dignity of Eng. Michael Kamau. He is a distinguished public servant who put in years of service to our nation.Kamau was persecuted and taken through hell by the very government he had served,” he added.
Supporting the DP was Nandi senator, Samson Cherargei who stated Michael’s tribulations were as a result of poor governance in the last regime.
He stated,”He was a victim of political witch hunt/political conmanship like most Kenyans where criminal justice was weaponised to pursue political agendas under former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.”
