It is okay when the opposition is venting- Ruto responds to Raila’s article on Kenya kwanza.
Last week, the opposition leader, Raila Odinga released an article title “ the first 100 days of Kenya kwanza in office.”
In the article, the Azimio la Umoja leader cited that President William Ruto is taking Kenya’s economy down hill and has not yet fulfilled what he promised, in his campaign manifesto.
Raila wrote,”These have been 100 days on the road to nowhere. Kenyans are worse off than they were during the campaigns when UDA promises flawed.”
President Ruto has however, stated that the opposition has every right to criticize the government , because it is their oversight duty.
Although, he stated that the government will not be pressurized to move in a way that the opposition wants. He stated that the governor is busy repaying it’s debts.
He stated,”We have built our economy on the basis of debt and that is why we are paying Ksh1.4 trillion to service debts. We want to build our economy on the basis of revenue raised from our savings and tax to secure our independence.”
He added that unlike other countries, Kenya’s opposition is working towards the common good of its citizens.
He stated,”My happiness is that our country’s opposition is doing its work. The government is ready to work with the opposition long as every party plays its part to better our nation. Previously we saw the govt merge with the opposition which did more harm than good bringing drought and debts. It is okay when the opposition is venting on issues affecting Kenyans.”
