Details of Machogu’s meeting with the US ambassador concerning CBC.
Yesterday, education cabinet secretary, Ezekiel Machogu met up with the united states ambassador to Kenya, regarding education.
Details of Machogu’s meeting include Meg Whitman’s affirmation that the united states is in support of the education reforms that the Kenyan government is making.
She stated,”will continue working on critical aspects of basic education, TVET and higher education to strengthen and improve the quality of education and training for students across the country.”
On his part, the education CS thanked the United states for their continued support to Kenya, particularly; Tusome (Early Grade Reading) programme sponsored by the US government, which has laid foundations for the CBC reforms.
The statement read,”He (Machogu) acknowledged that the Early Grade Reading programme had provided the foundations for the CBC education reforms.”
Additionally, CS Machogu thanked the US for the green card lottery and scholarship opportunities offered to Kenyan students in the US.
