The orange democratic movement, ODM responds to Jalang’o and 7 other MPs defecting to Ruto’s camp.
According to reports, eight ODM legislators and an independent lawmaker convened at State House, whereby they essentially ditched the Azimio leader, Raila Odinga and pledged to work with the ruling government.
Jalang’o in his twitter account wrote,”Today we had breakfast with the president, I followed up on the Start date of the construction of affordable housing in Highrise ward and the completion of the Langata TVET. The project is on and the contractor is on ground, an extra 50Million has been located for the completion.”
The alleged defectors include; Phelix Odiwour – Jalango – (Langata), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Shakeel Shabir (Independent – Kisumu Town East) and Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo) including two others.
However, according to ODM’s communication director, official communication from the members of parliament about their defection, has not yet been received.
ODM communication director Etale stated,” If reports are true as alleged, let their conscience guide them. They were elected on Azimio tickets and should receive instructions from the coalition.”
“If they believe that ODM is not sufficient for them, they should quit and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA),” he added.
