Meteorological department releases dates of when the country will finally receive rainfall. The president expected it to rain immediately after the prayers, which was contrary.
According to meteorologists, the earliest date Kenyans can experience rainfall is mid- march.
Nairobi, Central,Western region, South Eastern lowlands, and the coastal region, will be expecting their rains in the second week of March.
The north eastern will expect their rains on April. Kenyans have also been warned of excessive heat from the sun, the will be more than that experienced in January and february.
However, some parts of the country will experience low rains and drizzles in February. They include; areas in the Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Southern Rift Valley, and parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley.
In yesterday’s prayers, The head of state revealed that plans to access fertilizers have been put in place.
He said,” As a government, we have made all plans regarding fertilizers and seeds in preparation for rain.”
“We know God will send us rain and Kenya will have food. We will also eradicate the shame of hunger and starvation in Kenya,”the President added.
